Marcel Langer once said that it makes him proud when he makes people laugh with his Shots. But we didn't find the pictures of the official Le Mans and FIA WEC photographer so funny. Rather: fascinating, since Marcel understands like no other to capture the furious dynamics of motorsport in both authentic and technically perfect shots. For us, Marcel, who worked in development at Porsche before his career as a motorsport photographer, has now opened the archive and selected his favourite photos. Why he chose this selection of all things and what memories he associates with it, he also revealed to us.

Porsche 919 hybrid

Bahrain 2016

»The 919 Hybrid was the beginning of my career as a professional motorsport photographer. At the same time it was also the farewell of a driver: Mark Webber. If you see this elegant car in such a beautiful evening light, you miss Porsche all the more in the long-distance world championship.«

Porsche 911 GT3 R

24h Nürburgring 2018

»The 24-hour race at the Nürburgring is the toughest race ever. Not only for drivers and cars, but also for us photographers. On the other hand, the Nordschleife also offers beautiful curves. For me, the Karussell (merry-go-round) is one of the most impressive ones of the whole route. It's not the fastest, but it's one of the most photogenic curves - especially when there are sparks.«

Porsche 911 RSR ›Sau‹

24h Le Mans 2018

»After the Arnage section, when the pilots push the accelerator pedal fully again, the conditions for the Sunsetshot are almost ideal: The sun is low and shimmers through the trees. At the 24h of Le Mans 2018 it was the only really good moment with sun I can remember. All the better that I was able to take pictures of the ›Sau‹, the GTE class winner of Porsche.«

Porsche 911 RSR

1000 Meilen Sebring 2018

»I remember the first time I heard the new RSR: It was fast, it was loud, and it was simply awesome. That's why in the first rounds of the day I just listened. A pure pleasure for the ears. Later, at sunset in Turn 16, I worked and captured the car in perfect light.«

Porsche 911 RSR

1000 Meilen Sebring 2018

»Portraits are often shot with an aperture of 1.2 and a focal length of 85 millimeters. Does this also work with a racing car in full speed? Yes, it does. And if it works, the end results looks freaking sexy.«
