Porsche Design: Happy Hour

All drinks at half price? In theory, sure. In practice, this one’s about one of our favourite watches.

These days, we understand the above term as that period of time in which drinks can be purchased at a discounted price. The origins of the happy hour date back to the 1920s, however, when it referred to a scheduled period of entertainment for sailors in the United States Navy, including boxing and wrestling matches. It wasn’t until the Prohibition era that the term became associated exclusively with alcohol. A hundred years later, one thing hasn’t changed: to measure happy moments in time, you need a watch.
